It was finally time to kick things off for August 2023! George and Stephen from Ireland were joined by Paul (returning again from last year), Maddy and your's truly for a week of trout, laughter and adventure. I don't think anyone will forget the week's fishing that we had. It went from heaven to hell in a flash and then back again quicker than you could blink an eye at... We ended the week with two days fishing at Durness. The fishing was pretty good there as well. Actually, it was fantastic! At the end of the week Maddy and I ventured out in the tubes to Loch Borrallie for a Saturday session that saw a true limestone beauty grace my net. The weather turned really nasty in the afternoon and we beat a hasty retreat to the cottage! The Sunday morning saw the arrival of Barry, Liz, Findlay and Riley who had come over to fish at Durness for the week. They were sadly blighted a bit with terrible fishing conditions but they will certainly be back for a re-match sometime in the future. Here's to the next time I see the wide open land and pristine waters of the Highlands: Roll on 2024!!!
